Jonny Carson

JONNY CARSON - chrome plated metals, oak, etc.
(approximately 3 feet in height)
Sale Price

The artist has not owned a television set since 1963. "Goldstein" also despises television. Like the artist, he also has a low tolerance for bull-shit. In this case, it's "Death Wish 6", "Jerk Blood 8", "Rambutt 14", "Rocky Head 5", "Chainsaw Freddie, the Super Evil Woman Slasher"... and too many other wonder-fool Hollywood productions poisoning the world.
Despite the bizarre sludge making television the perfect tool for doodooing evil unto others, redeeming characters do occasionally appear on stage. One of these characters was Jonny Carson. The artist didn't see Jonny Carson very often, but whenever he did, he would laugh and laugh and laugh. More importantly... Jonny Carson made "Goldstein" laugh.
Jonny Carson made artist laugh... because he never did anything mean, vicious or perverse on his shows. The other shows (Jerry Spring-dick, Howard Stern-jerk, and other "weak links") too often make fun of other people to get a cheap laugh. Jonny, however, made fun of everything else... and especially himself. He was never elitist or arrogant or angry. Thus... we see in this sculpture of "Jonny Carson" a simple abstraction of a television set... with a microphone and a bowtie. Above the television set, floats a star and a crescent moon; It is the Tonight Show!

The Caucasian super hero flies free from the space between two giant red testicles. This piece captures the ultimate white ass fantasy of macho male sexuality. Yeah! Superman is a super dick!
Hey! Might as well have a good laugh while you still can. R.R.R. knows it's not easy for old dicks to get hard... and then stay that way!

The Dowager

THE DOWAGER chrome plated metals, oak, etc.
(approximately 3 feet in height)
Sale Price

This colorful sculpture is also the female version of "Mr. Art Collector". It portrays a wealthy dowager art collector who was also a member of American aristocracy, who appreciated nothing butt herself... It would take more than money to buy art, it will also require friendship, finesse, and integrity. It will require courtesy and respect. The supercilious dowager just doesn't possess such things.

Elvis

ELVIS PRESLEY - plated and painted metals, blue stained oak, resin, plexiglas, etc.
(approximately three feet in height)
Sale Price

This elegant and colorful sculpture captures the essence of Elvis, leaving out all the hype, all the sad and tawdry aspects of this great American icon. The viewers observe a blue, guitar shaped piece of oak floating in the air above a trinity base. Shooting away from the blue oak guitar are bright yellow thunderbolts of Elvis' music. And directly above Elvis' pink titty head... hovers a broken heart.
And so it was with Elvis Presley: A Nobody from the outskirts of Nowheresville, changing the world with sexy, swiveling hips playing a blue hearted guitar!

The Beatles

BEATLES - plated metals, plexiglas, etc.
(approximately four feet in height)
Private Collection / L.A.

"I wanna hold your hand..." and anything else you might let me touch (and bite). "The Beetles" shows the magnificence of British Knights in shining armor. The knights sing their song as they ride a "compass/merry-go-round" pointing to all corners of the earth. And these knights are no less than the Knights of Templar; they carry the same secret magic.

Hummingbird

HUMMINGBIRD plated metals, oak, resin, etc.
(approximately 7 feet and 6 inch in length)
Sale Price

This sculpture is a good example of pre-series works (works built in the 60's and early 70's in Boulder, Colorado). Over the years, many pre-series work had been lost or dismantled. Fortunately, "Hummingbird" still exists and in pristine condition, resting along in artist's self-built storage room.
A companion piece to the "Hummingbird", an elegant piece called the "Brutality of Balance", can be found in the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. Another Pre-series piece, "Jazzman", can be found in Museum of Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Those are the few pre-series work left today.
