I guess this funny painting tries to tell you this: Listen ladies, listen carefully. Never pick tease a hungry wolf with a juicy steak... unless you intend to give it to him! And better a wolf for a lover... than a snake!

Here sunny in Florida, parked in the shade beneath a giant oak tree, is a heavy duty, thirty year old FORD 350 Econoline van that the artist drove around and around and around Angeltown in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. The beastly van was specially built for the artist. It was an special factory order directly from Detroit. "Goldstein" ordered the van... because he knew the starving artist would need something big and bossy to survive the mean streets of L.A. Indeed, the artist's beefy van has two bullet holes in it! Well... the only way to solve the problem in L.A.... is probably with nuclear weapons. Thus... I give you "Killioy"

Notel

NOTEL, series 'W', - handbrushed oil on stretched cotton duck canvas, wood, metal, etc.

It's two minute to midnight, and our street hero (wearing the red, white, and blue) is cocking down a big city sidewalk. He's headed straight for big ass trouble. Yes... there's a clever vixen waiting around the corner, and if our hero isn't careful, she'll stiff him for a juicy ass ride. He'll have fun, of course, but it'll cost him plenty.
No doubt, our unsuspecting hero is the coming attraction... as well as the cumming attraction! "Notel" is a fast ass chapter in a long, sad story about Hotel California. Take a good look, folks; have a good laugh, it's on the artist this time.

Licker

LICKER, series 'W', - handbrushed oil on stretched cotton duck canvas, wood, metal, etc.

Who knows what's behind closed doors? Well, if you ever get inside "Notel", you might find out.
"Licker" is a prime, and "deliciously drunk" example, of artist's irascible and irreverent temperament. It is probably one of raunchiest paintings in Roehl's 'W' series (cartoon series), dozens of oil paintings that have never been exhibited to the public. Because the subject of matter is considered too controversial and/or politically incorrect for mass exposure. Unfortunately, there are too many people in L.A. art scene trying to be New York, New York!
