MADONNA MASTURBATION - handbrushed and heavy impasto oil on reinforced cotton duck canvas, wood, resin, metals, etc.
|
One day in May, while shoplifting in a bookstore with "Gauguin" (who was busy hiding from the sheriff), the starving artist found himself spying a hot photo of Madonna on the front cover of Interview. Wearing black tights and fishnet stockings, the savvy diva bitch was painted up like a silly circus clown. She was masturbating... With her fat tongue hanging from an open mouth. Upon sniffing this... the artist ripped the front cover off the magazine, and took it back to his gangbanging ghetto studio, a guerrilla operation located just down the cocaine street from "RRRiot Center" (the intersection of Florence and Normandie). The artist glued the magazine cover to the back of a large piece of wood... and then made the piece shown in the corresponding photo: "Madonna Masturbation". Click on the image for enlarged view |

BARBECUE
– hand brushed and heavy impasto oil on reinforced cotton duck canvas, wood, metal, etc.
"Barbecue" hints at the interminable cosmic struggle of opposites: good vs. evil, hot vs. cold, positive vs. negative, male vs. female, etc. Viewers first see a large, red hot fork... patiently waiting for a tasty morsel to float closer to it. The morsel, of course, is attracted to the passionate flames of the big fork. Yesss... opposite attract! Click on the image for enlarged view. |

New York! New York! New York can be a fun place. New York can be cruel. The artist well remembers going from Gallery to Gallery seeking representation for his work. He remembers the streets and specially the subways. Yes, been there, done that, too many times. Click on the image for enlarged view |
